Permineralized Wood | Germany

I have been trying to get my hands on these for SO LONG.

These incredible pieces of permineralized wood come from Germany and are notoriously difficult for me to source, so when I was finally able to get a small handful for the shop, I was ridiculously excited.

And yes, all of that sparkle you see covering the wood is actually tiny druzy quartz crystals. ✨

Over millions of years, silica rich water moved through the buried wood, slowly mineralizing and preserving portions of its original structure. As the wood changed and small spaces were left behind, quartz was able to crystallize within and across those areas. The result is this absolutely wild combination where you can still see something that looks unmistakably like an ancient piece of wood, except now it glitters when you move it through the light.

Nature basically made crystal covered enchanted forest wood, and obviously I needed it. 😂

These immediately felt like they belonged in our Enchanted Collection. They look like something you would find deep in a fairy forest, tucked beneath an old tree, sparkling just enough in the sunlight to make you stop and wonder whether you were actually supposed to find it.

Each piece is completely natural and one of a kind, with its own wood texture, formation and druzy quartz coverage. I was only able to source a few, and I genuinely don’t know when I’ll be able to get them again.
