One of the most incredible things about this piece is that every single section of luminous Mother of Pearl was individually cut and hand fit into the natural chambers of the ammonite. No two ammonites are the same, which means every inlay has to be carefully shaped to fit that exact fossil. The amount of craftsmanship behind a piece like this is honestly hard to put into words.
I fell in love with this piece the moment I saw it and couldn’t bear to leave it behind. The ancient spiral of the ammonite is already breathtaking on its own, but the Mother of Pearl catches the light in a way that almost brings the fossil back to life. It feels like the perfect meeting of ancient history, nature, and artistry, and it’s one of my absolute favorite creations from Starborn.
